Ocean Matters
is a is an Interdisciplinary platform of art + research with a focus on oceans and water. Our work focuses on ocean knowledge practices, water-y ecologies and more than human encounters.


Ocean matters aims to collaborate through multidisciplinary practices to continue bridging arts & humanities with ocean science and technology. The ultimate goal of ocean/matter is to equip ourselves and society with tools and aesthetic resources to collectively reflect on the present(s) and future(s) of our ocean.

Our current research phase, ‘mapping deep sea mapping’, is focussed on investigating the current moves toward planetary scale computation of the ocean via digital twins and AI models.  More updates coming soon
